Gamma at a glance

Gamma is the AI presentation tool that has grown the fastest in 2025-2026. The pitch is simple: enter a text or prompt and in under 30 seconds you have a complete presentation with professional design. No templates to fill in, no dragging boxes, no hours lost adjusting margins.

For this review, we created over 20 presentations with Gamma to evaluate every aspect with real-world judgment.

Plans and pricing

Gamma has three tiers:

Free — No cost

  • 400 AI credits (do not auto-renew on the free plan)
  • Unlimited presentations (while credits last)
  • Gamma watermark on all slides
  • PDF export

Plus — $8/month (billed annually) or $10/month monthly

  • 400 AI credits per month
  • No watermark
  • PowerPoint export (.pptx)
  • Custom domains for web presentations
  • Basic analytics

Pro — $15/month (annual) or $20/month monthly

  • Unlimited AI credits
  • All Plus features
  • Real-time collaboration
  • Priority support
  • Advanced analytics

For most individual users, the Plus plan at $8/month is the sweet spot. The Free plan is enough to experiment, but the credit limit is a genuine barrier.

How Gamma works

The main workflow has three steps:

1. Input You can start in three ways:

  • Generate with AI: write a prompt ("Create a 10-slide presentation about content marketing for SaaS") and Gamma generates structure + content + design.
  • Paste existing content: copy text from a document and Gamma transforms it into slides.
  • Import from PowerPoint: upload a .pptx and Gamma converts it to its format.

2. Customization Once the base is generated, you edit each slide with a block editor similar to Notion. You can add images, videos, tables, data charts, and the AI assistant can regenerate any section with one click.

3. Sharing

  • Web link: every presentation gets its own URL that works on any device.
  • PDF export: instant download.
  • PPT export: available on Plus and Pro.
  • Website embed: iframe code to embed in your site.

What Gamma does exceptionally well

Generation speed

In our tests, Gamma generated a 12-slide presentation in 23 seconds from a 50-word prompt. The result included logical structure, headings, key points, relevant stock images and a coherent design. Not perfect, but solid as a starting point.

Professional auto-design

Gamma's design system is genuinely intelligent. When you add more text to a slide, it automatically reorganizes the layout. Color schemes are modern and don't look "AI-generated" — a common problem with other tools.

Real PowerPoint export

This is what differentiates Gamma from the competition. Many AI presentation tools generate something that "looks like" PowerPoint but loses the design on export. Gamma exports .pptx with the design preserved, editable in PowerPoint or Google Slides.

Interactive web embed

Gamma presentations work like web pages. They're mobile-responsive, support scrolling and are navigable without installing anything. This makes them perfect for proposals sent by email or published on a website.

Weaknesses you should know about

Limited AI credits on the free plan

The 400 free credits seem like a lot, but they deplete quickly if you use the slide-regeneration feature. Creating one presentation costs between 40-80 credits. If you iterate heavily, you'll exhaust credits in 3-4 presentations.

Limited design control

Gamma is not PowerPoint. You can't precisely control the position of every element. The block system is efficient but restrictive. If your client demands an exact design following a detailed brand manual, Gamma isn't the right tool.

Internet dependency

Gamma is 100% online. Without a connection, it doesn't work. There's no desktop version.

Watermark on the free plan

All Free plan presentations display "Made with Gamma" on every slide. In professional contexts, this can be a problem.

Who is Gamma for?

Perfect fit:

  • Entrepreneurs creating pitch decks regularly
  • Consultants preparing client proposals
  • Teachers creating classroom materials
  • Content creators making presentations for YouTube or courses
  • Small teams that need speed over perfection

Not the right tool if:

  • You work in a corporate environment with strict brand guidelines
  • You need complex animations or specific transitions
  • Your client requires a pixel-precise editable .pptx file
  • You present in environments without internet access

Final verdict

Gamma is the best AI presentation tool if your priority is speed and "good enough" is genuinely good. For 80% of use cases — pitches, proposals, training materials, internal presentations — Gamma delivers a professional result in a fraction of the time it would take in PowerPoint.

The Plus plan at $8/month is one of the best value-for-money options in AI productivity tools in 2026. If you present more than twice a month, it pays for itself.

Overall score: 4.4/5 — Recommended.
